Rafa Benitez could be the latest high profile signing to the Chinese Super League with a report saying that the Newcastle United manager has been offered big money to manage Dalian Yifang.

Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez will be out of contract with the club at the end of this month and is yet to agree a deal to remain there next season, now there is a new threat to his future at the club.

According to BBC Sport the Spaniard has been offered a £12 million-a-year deal by Chinese Super League club Dalian Yifang to manage their team.

With time running out before his deal expires it has become more and more unlikely that Benitez will be in charge at St James' Park next season.

The former Liverpool boss has had issues over the promise of money being spent on transfers by Mike Ashley but last month there were rumours that there would finally be a takeover at the club.

Since then though reports have quietened down and Benitez is back to square one at the club that he brought back into the Premier League in his first full season in charge in 2017.

With very money spent in their two seasons back in England top tier the 59-year-old has done a fantastic job to lead them to 10th and 13th place finishes in the last two years.

The former Real Madrid manager has also been linked with a return to Chelsea, where he wasn't exactly loved by the fans in his first spell there.

Benitez took over from Roberto di Matteo in November 2012, just months after Italian won the Champions League, but his links to Liverpool didn't go down well at Stamford Bridge.

He was only interim manager for the season but still led the club to success in the Europa League, before being replaced by Jose Mourinho.

Should Benitez move to Yifang then he'd be reunited with former Napoli captain Marek Hamsik, who moved to the Far East earlier this year.

Former Atletico Madrid forward Yannick Carrasco is also at the club but has been linked with a move back to Europe with Arsenal.

Should Benitez take the money on offer in the Chinese Super League?
