Manchester City fans didn't want him anyway, Manchester United are paying too much for him and Arsenal players are glad to see the back of him. That's the narrative around Alexis Sanchez right now, but is any of it true?

Of course Manchester City, their manager and their fans would all have been excited about the prospect of signing Alexis Sanchez, the Arsenal forward is one of the best players around and one of the few who could have added to their already excellent side.

Manchester United might be spending quite a bit on the players wages. maybe more than they might have wanted to pay, but to get the best you've got to pay them pretty highly, especially when you're in competition with your rivals.

Would Sanchez make it into fellow Arsenal players' Most Hated XIs?

So what about Arsenal? Well for sure from a playing point of view neither the fans or his fellow players would want to see the Chilean leave, he's quite easily their best player.

However this week the Evening Standard reported that the forward was annoying his colleagues and they wanted him go. Well in an interview with BBC Sport former Gunners' colleague Francis Coquelin disputed those claims, saying:

"Well, you know Alexis Sanchez, he's quality on the pitch, he's someone who can produce something magical, he's a top player. I hear of things that the dressing room wasn't getting on well with him, well I don't really know where that came from.

"Sometimes that's what people say when we've got a great player we talk about ego, but you know he's someone who is always keen to work and I didn't have any problem with him and the squad don't have a problem."

Of course if Arsenal players do all hate Sanchez, or at least half of them, then at least they won't have to worry about the Chilean too much longer. The 29 year old is on the very verge of his move to Old Trafford.

Coquelin also recently left the Emirates. The midfielder moved to Spain earlier this summer to play for Valencia and with Theo Walcott also sold there's a big reshuffle in North London this month.

So Manchester City did want Sanchez, his Arsenal teammates don't hate him but are United still paying too much?
