Barcelona are undoubtedly still seething over the fact that PSG poached one of their prize possessions in Neymar, luring the Brazilian superstar away from the Nou Camp for a world-record £198 million.

And there's talk that the Blaugrana could try to level matters by moving for one of PSG's top assets - and it's not Marco Verratti.

Barcelona have been desperate to draft in the diminutive Italian but according to French outlet Journal du Dimanche, via Football Italia, the 24-year old, who recently switched agents and is now represented by super-agent Mino Raiola, is set to put pen to paper on a lucrative deal that will see his wages doubled.

Verratti is said to earn €6 million euros per year at present, but has reportedly been offered a much-improved salary of €12 million (£10.8 million) per year, which would make him one of PSG's top earners - and essentially rebuff Barca's advances.

However, German news outlet Bild have shared photos of Roger Wittmann, who represents Julian Draxler, at Barcelona airport - with reports suggesting the 23-year old could well be Barcelona-bound.

Of course, Wittman could well be just in Catalonia for a break, but it is certainly a coincidence.

With the departure of Neymar a big blow to Barcelona's preparations ahead of the new seasons, the Catalans are on the look-out for a replacement and have been heavily linked with moves for Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho and Borussia Dortmund's Ousmane Dembele.

Draxler only moved to the French capital in January joining from Wolfsburg for a fee of £38 million. He went on to make 20 appearances for the Parisians, scoring four goals - one of which incidentally came against Barcelona in the 4-0 Champions League last 16 first leg win in February.

And despite coming into the Ligue One season having starred at the Confederations Cup, where he skipped Joachim Low's youthful Germany side to victory and claimed the Golden Ball for the tournament, his place at PSG could be under threat due to Neymar's arrival.
