Following the additions of Dani Alves, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar in the summer, PSG already look a formidable force under Unai Emery but they are still out to strengthen their side even further and reportedly have their eyes on a high-profile summer addition, as well as two signings in January.

According to Telefoot, PSG have made Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho their number one target for when the summer transfer window and wish to land another technically gifted Brazilian for the second year running, following the £198 million capture of compatriot Neymar in the recent window.

The former Inter Milan was heavily courted by Barcelona all summer and the Catalans were hell-bent on acquiring him. However, Liverpool would not budge whatsoever and every bid and approach that came their way was swiftly rebuffed.

As a result, Coutinho has been brought back into the Liverpool fold and has performed impressively, scoring four times and contributing further with three assists.

But still, one would not expect Coutinho to be sticking around at Anfield for the long term and PSG would now appear to be the favourites to land him, as opposed to Barca.

There were reports in the summer that Neymar was trying to work his magic and convince Coutinho to join him in the French capital. The relationship between the two, as well as the strong Brazilian contingent at PSG, could well prove decisive.

Before then though, the Ligue One leaders are looking for a couple of incomings to add to their squad mid-season. The Parisiens are said to be in advanced negotiations over the signing of another Brazilian, Fluminense's 20-year old midfielder Wendel.
