Juan Mata doesn't know where his future will be with only six months left on his deal at Manchester United but the Spanish midfielder has lots of options, including one Premier League side.

There was a discussion in the office recently about who the best Spanish Premier League player was and it focused mainly on David Silva vs Cesc Fabregas but perhaps we should have talked more about Juan Mata.

The Manchester United midfielder has had quite the career since moving to England's top tier, including somehow surviving the David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho eras.

Mata was twice Chelsea player of the year before Mourinho rocked back up to Stamford Bridge and decided he wasn't needed and happily sold him to Moyes, one of the Scot's two signings at United alongside Marouane Fellaini.

However despite managing to outlast Mourinho at Old Trafford, despite everyone expecting him to be first out the door when the Portuguese manager arrived, his contract comes to an end in the summer.

United are being cautious about offering players over 30 new deals right now, especially with no permanent manager or director of football, so he would be available for free in the summer.

According to the Mirror, Arsenal have joined a list of European sides interesting in signing Mata, with Juventus , Paris Saint Germain and Barcelona all considering moves.

Unai Emery worked with the 30 year old at Valencia, before he moved to England, and with a limited budget would be interested in bringing his creativity to the Emirates.

The Gunners are losing Aaron Ramsey on a free at the end of the season to Juventus, which would seem to rule the Old Lady out of signing Mata, and Mesut Ozil isn't wanted by Emery.

Yesterday it was revealed that Arsenal had made a loan bid for Eric Bailly, with a view to signing him permanently in the summer, but with the two sides rivals for a fourth place spot that always seemed unlikely to happen. United wouldn't be able to stop a move for Mata with his contract up.

The Red Devils could yet give him a renewed deal but at this point anything could happen and it could come down to what the new manager wants.

Should Mata move to Arsenal?
