Petr Cech showed he doesn't have the best poker face, after a Chelsea fan approached him about the potential signing of Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz.

The German has been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge but no deal has been reached to be the two clubs as of yet.

Cech, who works as technical and performance advisor for the Blue, was walking outside of Wembley on Saturday afternoon and was asked about the potential signing. The former goalkeeper didn't say much but he couldn't help but laugh.

With Champions League football having been secured by the Blues last month, on the last day of the Premier League season, they are expected to make their move for Havertz.

Bayer are reportedly holding out for around £90 million for the 21-year-old whilst the west London club are hoping to sign him for closer to £70-75 million.

The highly rated youngster scored seven goals in nine games after the Bundesliga returned in May up until the end of the season.

Leverkusen are still in the Europa League but the player is hoping to get his move sorted before then and not play in the European competition.

Chelsea have already added a highly rated attacking player from Germany, with Timo Werner joining the club, and the former RB Leipzig forward was in the stands on Saturday afternoon.

Frank Lampard's side have also been boosted by the signing of former Ajax player Hakim Ziyech, who has already impressed in training with his new team.

After finishing in the top four this season without any additions to the squad, the Blues will be looking to kick on next season and, even if they sign Havertz, will need to improve their defence.

Their problems at the back were once again highlighted at Wembley by the club Cech finished his playing career with, Arsenal.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's two goals shone another spotlight on a defence that conceded 54 goals in the league last season.
