Paul Pogba has added more fuel to the fire by liking a social media comment telling him to join Real Madrid, on the day the European transfer window closed.

The Manchester United midfielder has been the subject of constant rumours of a move from United to Real Madrid, with his agent revealing at the start of the summer that Pogba wanted to leave.

Yesterday the European transfer window closed, ending any chance of the Frenchman leaving until January, but he was spotted liking a comment by a fan on Instagram pleading for him to move to Real.

In July the midfielder's agent, Mino Raiola, told The Times, "Everyone within the club from the manager to the owner knows Paul's wishes.

"Everyone knows the willingness of Paul to move on. We are in the process of that. Everyone knows what the feelings of Paul are."

It led to months of speculation linking the World Cup winner with a move to the Bernabeu or back to Juventus, who United signed him from two years ago.

The club had no interest in selling him cheap though and reportedly placed a £180 million asking price on the player, making any move unlikely.

When the English transfer window ended, before the Premier League season kicked off, without United signing a midfielder it looked very unlikely Pogba would be allowed to leave.

Now that the window has also shut throughout Europe it means that the 26-year-old will have to wait till at least January, though once again it will be down to his current club being able to sign a replacement.

Pogba's second term at Old Trafford looked to be coming to an end just under a year ago when he fell out with Jose Mourinho and had the captain's armband taken from him and then was dropped to the bench.

When Mourinho was sacked he became an integral part of the team again as Solskjaer's tenure started with a brilliant run of form, for both the team and the midfielder.

He missed the famous second leg of the PSG Champions League game through suspension and after that match the wheels came off United's season.

Once again he's started this season in indifferent form and came under criticism for his penalty miss against Wolves and the two designated penalty taker system in place in the team.

Pogba's second divorce from the club seems inevitable at some point, it'll likely be some point in the next year.
