This may come as a shocking development to, well, absolutely no one, but it turns out Zinedine Zidane doesn't want Real Madrid's all time leading goal scorer to leave the club.
Cristiano Ronaldo is now firmly entrenched in a 'will he/won't he?' transfer saga that is fast becoming an annual tradition, although this time his issue involves the Spanish authorities and their treatment of him regarding a tax fraud case being brought against the Portugal captain.
It is being alleged that Ronaldo owes the Spanish government €14 million, relating to his image rights. The Real Madrid man has reportedly been left frustrated with the case and now wants to leave Spain, with Manchester United of course being linked with a move for their former number seven.

The news will have no doubt concerned Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane who, unsurprisingly, wasn't too keen on losing the player who'd just fired his team to domestic and continental success and guarantees at least 50 goals every season.
Soon after the news of Ronaldo's demands to leave the Bernabeu became public, Los Blancos' manager rang the four time Ballon D'or winner to plead with him to stay, according to the story splashed across Marca's front page, yesterday.
Zidane simply had one message for the 32-year-old goal machine, "Cris, I don't want you to go"

Not exactly shocking, but it does go to show how Ronaldo's latest complaint is not being taken lightly by Real management.
Should the Portugal captain be serious about forcing a move away from the Bernabeu, it is believed he would favour a return to Old Trafford, where he spent six glittering years with Manchester United, lifting three Premier League titles, a Champions League, an FA Cup, two League Cups and a FIFA World Club Cup.
Any deal taking Ronaldo back to Manchester would have to eclipse the £89 million world record fee United paid Juventus for Paul Pogba, last season.
Will Ronaldo stay or will he go?
