West Ham Fans Will Not Be Happy With The Players Bilic Turned Down

Hammers Chairman David Sullivan has revealed which players his manager could have bought

David Sullivan insists Slaven Bilic knocked back Grzegorz Krychowiak and Renato Sanches during the summer transfer window.

The West Ham co-chairman posted an official statement on the club's website this evening reflecting on the Hammers' transfer window.

They managed to sign Marko Arnautovic, Javier Hernandez, Sead Haksabanovic, Joe Hart and Pablo Zabaleta earlier in the window.

But after a poor start to the season, which saw them lose three of their opening three Premier League games going into the international break, West Ham failed to add any more players.

And that's led to a sense of frustration among the supporters.

Sullivan has taken to whufc.com, though, and insisted Bilic is happy with their business - and even knocked back Krychowiak and Sanches because he's so keen on what he has.

He wrote: "Overall Slaven is happy with the business we have done during the summer transfer window," he told whufc.com. "We received the manager's wish-list before the window opened and we have managed to get the top four players on it.

"It is no secret that we made a club record bid for Sporting Lisbon's William Carvalho but unfortunately that offer was rejected a couple of weeks ago.

"Late last night Sporting Lisbon made contact to accept the original offer, but unfortunately it was just too late in the day, and we simply did not have enough time to put the player through a medical.

"We were not prepared, as a club, to buy a player for that amount of money without him having gone through adequate medical checks.

"Grzegorz Krychowiak and Renato Sanches were both offered to the manager before their switches elsewhere, but he told us that he is happy with the squad he has.

"As a Board we are behind Slaven, and he believes he has the tools to turn around our form and rectify our disappointing start to the season."

So Bilic knocked back a hugely experienced international midfielder and one of the most talented young players in world football because he'd rather Mark Noble and Pedro Obiang? We're not so sure fans will be happy with that.

Krychowiak actually signed for West Brom before the deadline while Swansea sealed the unlikeliest of loans to sign up Sanches for a season from Bayern Munich.

When they both visit the London Stadium, we reckon there will be plenty at West Ham with a sense of envy - including Bilic.
