Manchester United's hopes of sign Borussia Dortmund attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan appear to rest on former Chelsea forward Andre Schurrle.
According to German newspaper Bild, Dortmund have opened negotiations with Wolfsburg over the signing of Schurrle - with the Bundesliga giants looking for a swift replacement for the outgoing Mkhitaryan.
The Armenian midfielder is destined to leave this summer and Jose Mourinho's Manchester United are desperate to land him - the club are seeking attacking players after last season's disappointing campaign. He could be available for a fee of £30.6 million, but a potential move could depend on the situation of Andre Schurrle, who has reportedly been speaking with Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel.

Dortmund may loosen their grip on former Shakhtar man Mkhitaryan if they are able to strike up a deal to bring in Schurrle, who they view as an ideal replacement.
