Back in 2013, Norwich supporters were delighted to hear the news that Ricky van Wolfswinkel had signed for a club record fee of £8.5 million from Sporting Lisbon.
Unfortunately for Ricky, his time at Carrow road failed to materialise into anything special. The 27-year-old scored just two goals in all competitions and faded into obscurity.
Van Wolfswinkel was loaned out to St Étienne and Real Betis in recent seasons but failed to earn a permanent deal at either club but now, he has returned to where it all started - Dutch side Vitesse.
Former Norwich boss Chris Hughton may have described Van Wolfswinkel as 'the perfect fit' for his side but it just didn't work out for the Dutch forward, despite scoring on his league debut.

Did the expectation get to him?
We wish him all the best at Vitesse.
