Usually, whenever you hear about a transfer story involving David De Gea, you can guarantee that the bidding club involved will be Real Madrid. However, Los Blancos apparently have some competition in their pursuit of Manchester United's Spanish stopper.

French news outlet LE10 Sport is today reporting that Paris Saint-Germain are looking to continue the mammoth spending spree that saw Neymar and Kylian Mbappe arrive at the Parc des Princes this summer for a combined fee of somewhere in the region of £350 million, by adding De Gea to their ranks, next year.

Real infamously failed with a deadline day bid for De Gea two years ago, when a faulty fax machine let them down at the last minute. The United goalkeeper ended up remaining at Old Trafford, signing a new contract not long after his move to the Bernabeu collapsed.

In the intervening couple of years, De Gea has continued to develop into one of the world's best 'keepers, cementing his place as one of United's most important players and that has brought him to PSG's attention, who are believed to be in the market for a top class goalkeeper.

The French club's current goalkeepers, Kevin Trapp and Alphonse Areola, have failed to convince and the former Ligue Un champions will now test United's resolve, next summer, although United are unlikely to want to entertain any offers for the Spain international, with the Old Trafford club not in a position where they need to sell anyone, least of all one of their best players.
