Premier League Club Make Gonzalo Higuain Approach

Will this happen?

If footballers read anything into transfer rumours then for the past few years Gonzalo Higuain would have had his bags packed and ready for a move to London. Could this be the year he finally gets on the plane?

Even before the Argentinian striker left the Bernabeu for Napoli and Serie A the 28 year old has been linked with a move to Arsenal and yet year after year the Gunners have not signed a striker.

Having missed out on Jamie Vardy already this summer it looks like Arsene Wenger is trying again to sign Higuain with Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli claiming the Premier League side have contacted the player's agent:

In the past whilst being linked with numerous strikers, especially Higuain and Karim Benzema, Wenger has insisted that Olivier Giroud was the striker he needed to win the league despite evidence suggesting otherwise.

Giroud proved how good a player he can be last night as France beat Iceland 5-2 with the Arsenal forward scoring two.

The Gunners have already brought one striker, Takuma Asano, to the Emirates this summer but the Japanese forward is expected to go out on loan.

Last season Higuain broke the Serie A record for most goals in a season. Will Wenger finally get his man?
