West Ham fans must be watching Euro 2016 with a mixture of smug satisfaction and absolute terror when it comes to Dimitri Payet. One club's interest might worry them a little more than they'd like.

Payet has been the standout player in the Euros so far after a season when he was one of the standout players in the Premier League, a season that got him from nowhere near the France squad to their most important player in the first place.

After two goals and an assist in two games it's the West Ham midfielder who's stealing all the headlines but that will just increase speculation on his future and according to reports the Hammers are worried about losing him to Real Madrid.

Payet joined the Premier League from Marseille for just £11.25 million last season and set the league on fire with nine goals and 12 assists in the league, form that has him linked to some big moves.

The 29 year old could cost up to £40 million this summer with the Irons moving to the Olympic Stadium and with Europa League football which is why a move to Manchester United and Chelsea, two other sides linked with a move is unlikely.

However few players can turn down a move to the Bernabeu and the chance to play Champions League football. Zinedine Zidane is said to be a big fan and Florentino Perez loves spending money on a tournament star.

Will Payet stay at West Ham?
