Patrice Evra Linked To Shock Premier League Return

The controversial full-back is a free agent after leaving Marseille

If I was Patrice Evra, at 36 years of age, I'd be more than happy to call time on my career and spend the rest of my days screaming 'I LOVE THIS GAME' into a mobile phone while riding a stuffed panda around Dubai or whatever the fuck it is he gets up to on social media. Looks a right laugh.

Instead, the former Manchester United and Juventus left-back is set for a shock return to the Premier League.

News has broken in the last hour that the Frenchman is set to sign for West Ham United on a free transfer. It's a move which would see Evra link up once again with David Moyes, who he would endure a miserable 10 months with at Manchester United during the 2013/14 season, before Moyes was sacked and Evra was allowed to leave for Juventus.

Hammers fans will be hoping the pair are ever so slightly more successful during their second spell together.

As you can see from the above tweets, the news of Evra's impending arrival at the London Stadium has been met with a mixed reaction from the West Ham fans.

The 36-year-old was infamously fired by Marseille last year after kicking one of the club's fans in the head during a scuffle at a Europe League game in Portugal. Since then he has been a free agent.

Evra lifted five Premier League trophies with Manchester United, as well as the 2008 Champions League, a FIFA Club World Cup and three League Cups.
