After weeks and weeks of transfer speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United, it now looks like Victor Lindelof's proposed move to Old Trafford is off, according to BBC journalist Simon Stone.
From apparently agreeing a fee with Benfica to even him taking the number two shirt at United, Lindelof's move looked certain but Stone has poured cold water over the deal, stating that Jose Mourinho does not need to buy in January.
Both Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones have performed admirably in the centre of late, and Mourinho has cover at centre-back in Bailly, Blind and Smalling.

Jones and Rojo have only conceded 7 goals in 9 games.
Here's what Stone said on the matter:
"The form of Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo in central defence has persuaded manager Jose Mourinho he does not need to buy. The Portuguese also has cover at centre-back in Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling and Daley Blind."
Portuguese outlet RTP reported yesterday that the deal was done and dusted and that the Swede will 'officially sign for United' in the next few days when the transfer window opens.

Even Henrik Larsson, who had a short spell at Old Trafford in 2007, said the following on Victor Lindelof:
"He is already playing at a high level, so he's prepared for a club like Manchester United."
