Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made Anthony Martial available for transfer this summer, as the Manchester United boss looks to improve his attacking options.

Martial, who joined United under Louis van Gaal in 2015, scored just four Premier League goals last season and saw his place in the team taken by Edinson Cavani in the second half of the campaign.

Cavani has signed a new deal at United, to stay at Old Trafford until next June, and, according to reports, that could be the beginning of the end for Martial.

Duncan Castles claims that the Frenchman, who picked up a knee injury in March that has kept him out of Euro 2020, has been put on the transfer list, and it's not just because of his lack of goals.

"Anthony Martial is to be sacrificed should they get this new forward in," Castles said on the Transfer Window podcast.

"Solskjaer is tired of his attitude and hasn't been impressed with his goal production and general knitting into the team this season."

The 25-year-old has previously been named as one striker that Tottenham Hotspur would consider as a makeweight in a deal for Harry Kane.

Despite Cavani staying next season, United are reportedly interested in the England captain, though rivals Manchester City are considered favourites.

If a swap for Kane doesn't materialise, Castles also claimed that Martial had been offered to Real Madrid on a season-long loan with an option to buy the former Monaco forward at the end of the deal.

Whilst Kane is an option for United's summer spending, the Premier League runners up seem to have Jadon Sancho as their priority.

The Borussia Dortmund forward was involved in a long and failed transfer saga last summer, with the English club determined to haggle the reported €120 million price tag down.

This summer the Bundesliga club reportedly are asking for a reduced €90 million, although United were short with their first offer.

Personal terms are thought to be relatively easy, after the player and United had all but agreed on a contract last season, leaving United just needing to up their initial bid to the German side.

United have also been linked with a move for Sancho's England teammate Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid, as right back cover for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and are reportedly looking to sign a centre back to partner Harry Maguire.
