Donny van de Beek could have his terrible time as a Manchester United player ended this summer, and he could even be used to help the club sign their top target.
United fans were excited last summer when they signed Van de Beek from Ajax for around £40 million, with the midfielder having been an integral part of the Dutch club's run to the 2019 Champions League semi-final.

Unfortunately things didn't turn out how any of the parties involved would have been hoping and the 24-year-old started just four Premier League games all season.
Van de Beek couldn't even get off the bench during United's Europa League final loss to Villarreal and, to make matters even worse, he then picked up an injury to keep him out of the Euros - as if his year wasn't bad enough.
Now though it looks like there could be light at the end of the tunnel for the midfielder, with reports that Real Madrid are ready to make a loan move for him.
The Mirror report that Los Blancos have offered a £2 million fee to take him to the Bernabeu for a year and would then have the option to buy him, with that fee likely to be close to what United paid a year ago.
The paper also claim that Ajax were considering an offer to take their former player back to the Eredivisie for the year but that wouldn't have included an option to buy.

That offer wouldn't work for United, not because of the option to buy issue but, because the Premier League side are hoping sending Van de Beek to Real will help with their incoming transfers, according to the Sun.
After all but securing their move for Jadon Sancho earlier this week, with just a medical to come after Euro 2020, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are now prioritising a centre back partner for Harry Maguire.
Their number one target is Real defender Raphael Varane, whose contract expires at the end of next season and is reportedly ready to move on from the club after 10 years in the Spanish capital.
Van de Beek was expected to move to Real on two occasions before eventually moving to United, with the Spanish giants having to back out the second time last summer.

The Dutchman is reportedly so desperate to move away from Old Trafford that he offered himself to Barcelona earlier in the summer, after they missed out on his fellow countryman Georginio Wijnaldum.
He may be about to get his wish!
