Pep Guardiola's Manchester City may be top of the Premier League and looking comfortable in the Champions League, but the Catalan coach is still looking to bolster his free scoring team.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss spent over £200 million strengthening his squad, this summer after a disappointing, trophyless debut season at the Etihad Stadium.

The likes of Bernardo Silva, Benjamin Mendy, Danilo and Kyle Walker were brought to Eastlands in a summer recruitment drive that is already bearing fruit, with City hitting the ground running in the early stages of the 2017/18 campaign.

And Guardiola is ready to go back to his employers and ask them to re-open the chequebook, once again.

Top of the City's manager's shopping list is believed to be Monaco midfielder Fabinho, who was also courted by City's rivals Manchester United over the summer and is also a reported target of Paris Saint-Germain.

French media outlet LE10 Sport reported City's interest in the Brazilian midfielder, via the Manchester Evening News.

As well as Mendy and Bernado Silva, Monaco also lost wonderkid Kylian Mbappe and midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, this summer and would be unwilling to enter into negotiations to sell another one of their League title winners so soon after seeing so many exits from the club.

City are willing to wait until next summer to get their man, however and, in the meantime, will also revive their interest in Arsenal's Chilean forward, Alexis Sanchez, who they will reportedly bid £20 million for in January, according to the Evening News, with the 28-year-old out of contract in June and apparently unwilling to sign a new deal with the North London club.

Guardiola's team are currently unbeaten this term and have a goal difference of +27 across all competitions.
