Manchester United and Arsenal may be registering an interest in each other's players recently, with United being linked with an end of season move for Mesut Ozil and the Gunners apparently targeting the Red Devils' 20-year-old goalkeeper Dean Henderson, but they could also be going head-to-head over one of South America's most prodigious talents.

The two Premier League giants are both rumoured to be interested in Santos' 16-year-old forward, Yuri Alberto.

Alberto has attracted a lot of interest from several of Europe's top clubs after scoring a ridiculous 51 goals in 32 games at youth level, last year.

Contact has reportedly been made with Alberto's agent by both clubs, claim reports in the press, today with the Brazilian prodigy valued at £37.5 million by Santos.

The teenager signed a professional contract with Santos in July but is yet to make an appearance for the club's first team. However, we will be on display at the U17 World Cup in India, this month, after being named in Brazil's squad for the tournament.

Speaking in an interview earlier this year, Alberto commented on the amount of interest in him, saying, "It's marvellous to know that people are following my progress from so far away. I heard talk of great clubs observing me and without doubt it is my dream one day to find success abroad. However, I am only 16 years old and have a journey to complete at Santos first. I want to be called up to the full team, score loads of goals and win the title."

Serie A trio Juventus, Roma and Inter have also scouted the Brazilian youngster, who has revealed that he believes Italian football would suit him best, perhaps giving the three Italian clubs an advantage over United and Arsenal when it comes to transfer negotiations.
