Jurgen Klopp has poured cold water on arguably the hottest transfer story of the January window by saying Alexandre Pato isnt heading to Liverpool.
The Kop boss has been linked with the Corinthians striker over recent months as his side struggle for a regular goalscorer with the poor form of Christian Benteke and injuries to Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings.
Pato looked like being a realistic option given he was lethal while on loan at Sao Paolo during 2015, scoring 26 goals in all competitions.
That loan deal is now over and there has been talk of a return to Europe for the AC Milan striker with Liverpool at the forefront of recent speculation.
But Klopp has advised transfer mongers to give up on the Pato story because he wont be heading for Anfield before the end of this month.
Speaking in his press conference ahead of Liverpools clash with Arsenal on Wednesday, Klopp said, via mirror.co.uk: My private advice to you is dont follow the Pato path any longer.
That will be that then.
