Prior to Euro 2016, Jamie Vardy looked all set to leave Leicester City, the club he'd helped fire to a historic Premier League title triumph, to move to Arsenal. However, when the former Fleetwood Town striker decided against the move, many fans were left wondering what had changed his mind. Now, finally, the England striker has revealed his reasons.
The move, which would have drawn eerily similarities with John Cena's move to Monday Night Raw during the 2005 WWE Draft, after achieving huge success on SmackDown (SmackDown's colours are blue, Raw's are red, it's pretty much identical, isn't it? Good, glad we're all 100% agreed on that), looked to be all but done when it was revealed that the Gunners had triggered Vardy's release clause. However, the Foxes hitman has claimed he never spoke to anyone at Arsenal regarding the deal.
Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, Vardy said, "I've always said the brotherhood at Leicester is unbelievable. Personally I feel I have a lot of unfinished business here. It wasn't that big a decision, it was quite easy, this is where I wanted to be. I was away with England. No [I never spoke with Arsenal]."
