Manchester United have already agreed a deal to sign Jack Grealish, according to former Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder, who has played a key role in Villa's Premier League campaign so far this season, scoring nine goals in all competitions, has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for some time.

In fact, back in February, it was reported that Grealish has already agreed personal terms with United ahead of a transfer, with suggestions that the player was searching for a house in the Manchester area, despite the two clubs not agreeing on a deal.

Months later and his former boss Tim Sherwood believes a transfer "is already done" for Grealish to move to Old Trafford this summer as Villa continue to linger in the Premier League relegation zone.

"I think Jack Grealish is a deal which is already done," Sherwood told Premier League Productions. "He's a player that they [Manchester United] need. I honestly believe there's only one club for Jack Grealish."

Sherwood was then asked to elaborate on his claims.

"I don't think he can stay at Aston Villa, he needs to progress his career. I think he signs for Manchester United." he continued.

Manchester United could have easily snapped up Grealish for a much cheaper price back in 2012, as revealed by former Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish, who claims The Reds nearly signed him as a schoolboy in 2012.

McLeish said United's interest extends as far back as eight years ago when a teenage Grealish was seen at former United star Rio Ferdinand's Rosso restaurant.

The Scotsman told The Mirror: "We concocted getting him on the bench against Chelsea [in April 2012] just to give him a taste.

"But the next month on the same day the first team were at Old Trafford, Jack and an agent were seen at Rio Ferdinand's restaurant that night.

"I am sure Jack was really happy being wanted by other massive teams but you knew his heart was at Villa. It was just a case of sorting out a suitable package."

Thoughts on Grealish potentially making the move up north to Manchester United next season? Would he be a success?
