Despite resisting Chelsea's advances four times last Summer, Everton have reportedly resigned themselves to losing John Stones during the upcoming transfer window and have now set their asking price for the England defender.
The 21-year-old was top of soon-to-be Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho's shopping list last Summer, but when Chelsea's final offer of £37m was turned down, the Portuguese decided not to pursue the move any further. Now though, according to the Manchester Evening News, the Toffees have set Stones' asking price at £45m and with Barcelona and Manchester City readying bids, a three way bidding war could be about to erupt for the young centre-half.

Stones endured a difficult season at Goodison Park under Roberto Martinez as Everton's form veered off the rails in the second half of the season. Despite a torrid time of things recently, however, Pep Guardiola, Luis Enrique and the aforementioned Mourinho are all thought to be huge admirers of the youngsters talents and are willing to break the bank for him, this Summer.
