Not only is Brendan Rodgers set to pocket a handsome amount as Celtic's new manager, the former Liverpool boss is also targeting a reunion with a Liverpool legend at Parkhead in a move that would be the Hoops biggest signing since Roy Keane turned up in Glasgow for six months at the end of his career.
The Northern Irishman will earn £2.25m-a-year (four times more than outgoing manager Ronny Deila) during his reign as Celtic manager and may earn all of that and then some if he convinces Steven Gerrard to join the club, as is being strongly rumoured that he will do, in today's papers.
The Sun are today reporting that Rodgers has made Gerrard a priority target and will look to offer the former Liverpool captain a player/assistant coach role at Celtic Park. It is believed that Gerrard and his wife Alex have decided not to remain in LA after Gerrard's contract with LA Galaxy expires in December, citing homesickness as a reason for wanting to leave California.

Whether Rodgers can convince Gerrard to make the move to the SPL is another matter, with many people believing the former Liverpool manager didn't do enough to make Gerrard stay at Anfield last Summer.
