Sergio Aguero Has A Contract Clause That Could Mean Leaving Barcelona Soon

Aguero is reportedly ready to quit just over a month after officially joining as he was expecting to team up with his friend Lionel Messi.

Sergio Aguero could leave Barcelona, just weeks after signing for the club, due to a clause in his contract with his new team.

Aguero's time at Barcelona has already been extremely rocky, especially for a man who only officially joined on July 1st.

The former Manchester City forward has already had to contend with his contract not being able to be registered in La Liga and his best friend Lionel Messi leaving the club.

The latter news has reportedly led Aguero to be unhappy and want to exit the Nou Camp before making his competitive debut, as playing with Messi was one of the primary reasons for joining, and he could get his wish.

Aguero has been ruled out for 10 weeks with a calf injury and, according to Spanish journalists Adrian Sanchez and Alejandro Carrasco on their podcast, that could be the excuse to let the forward go.

The two journalists, discussing the matter on Mas Que Pelotas, claimed that there is a clause that allows Barca to cancel the contract due to the player's injuries.

It's believed the 33-year-old picked up his latest injury in training on Sunday, just hours after his friend's emotional farewell press conference.

The five time Premier League winner missed the team's friendly with Juventus on Sunday night, in which Memphis Depay proved he's the heir apparent to Messi.

A 10 week lay-off would see the former Atletico Madrid striker waiting until mid October before he could make his competitive debut for the club.

Injuries played a part in Aguero's importance to City being hugely diminished last season, as Pep Guardiola's team stormed to another league title without playing with a 'proper' number nine for much of the campaign.

The Argentina forward, who helped his country win the Copa America this summer, only played 12 games in the league, with many of them coming off the bench.

Guardiola paid a teary farewell to the player who was at City for 10 years and has spent the summer wanting to replace the striker.

Harry Kane has clearly been the club's number one target but so far they've had no luck negotiating with Spurs and have only signed Jack Grealish.

Perhaps soon they'll be able to replace Sergio Aguero with Sergio Aguero.
