Barcelona Linked With World Class Midfielder, Player Wants to Join

It appears Barcelona are on the brink of snapping up Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool, and the brilliant Brazilian may not be the only high profile acquisition of the January window.

After failing to sign Coutinho in the summer, despite tabling a few monstrous bids, reports suggest Barcelona are set to finally land their man.

The transfer saga which has dragged on for months is nearing the course of it's deal.

Coutinho to Barcelona is expected to command a huge transfer, and he may not be the only player heading to the Camp Nou this month.

Enter: Thiago Alcantara.

He's reportedly unhappy at Bayern Munich, and wants a move back to Spain according to reports from Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo via Football Espana.

Alcantara was a product of Barcelona's famed youth academy. He graduated in 2008, eventually running out for the full team.

Though first team football wasn't always a guarantee which prompted his switch to the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich.

Further reports claim his father has been speaking to his former club about a potential move. In those discussions, Alcantara has expressed his desire to return.

Alcantara is believed to be growing frustrated with manager Jupp Heynckes who took over from Carlo Ancelotti following his sacking, this season.

While he's reportedly unhappy, Alcantara made his name at the Allianz Arena, producing heroics, putting himself on the map not to mention raising the league title an impressive four times.
