Luis Suarez Explains Why He Won't Play In The Premier League Again

Suarez has had an incredible career in La Liga and won't be swapping Spain for a return to England any time soon.

Luis Suarez has revealed why he's not going to be coming back to the Premier League any time, unless it was with former club Liverpool.

Suarez left Liverpool in 2014, after three years at Anfield where he became a cult hero of the club, and has carved out an incredible career in Spain since.

At Barcelona the Uruguayan won four La Liga titles and the Champions League, as he created a brilliant front line with Lionel Messi and Neymar, before the Brazilian left for PSG.

He moved to Atletico Madrid last summer and won yet another league title, making his former club regret letting him go the previous year.

At 34-years-old he's shown no signs of slowing down as a dangerous threat upfront but any club in England who think they might sign him in the future have another thing coming, with Suarez saying he couldn't play for anyone other than the Reds.

"Playing for any team other than Liverpool in England would be hard," he told World Soccer Magazine.

"I had, and hope I still do have, such a good relationship with Liverpool fans that it would be strange for me to play for somebody else."

With Suarez in the team, and managed by Brendan Rodgers, the Anfield side nearly ended their run without a league title in 2014, when they finished as runners up.

Instead it took them another six years before they finally won the Premier League, ending 30 years without the title.

Suarez admits he was happy for the club, but wished it was him, adding, "It would have been special to win the league with Liverpool, but I am glad that their wait is now over.

"They look like a team that will compete for many seasons to come even if this one has not been the best for them. They are back where they belong."

The former Ajax striker has just one year left on his deal at the Wanda Metropolitano but it doesn't sound like he's got any desire to leave Diego Simeone's team.

"At the moment I am enjoying my time here.

"I enjoy it here, we are settled in Spain - there is no need to think about me leaving.

"When I think how well I have settled in at Atletico and the faith the coach has shown in me, it was easily the right decision for me."
