The big Premier League kick-off is approaching, as Arsenal continue to be linked with every player under the sun yet they've failed to agree new contracts with their two star players.

Arsene Wenger has made some movement during the summer window, drafting in Rob Holding, Takuma Asano while spending big on Granit Xhaka.

Though, the club will start the new season with Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil future in doubt after failing in tie them down to new contracts.

Initial talks about a new deal began in September but little progress has been made while talks will not resume until after the transfer window closes at the end of the month, according to The Times.

The influential duo have two years remaining on their current deals ahead of the new season, Wenger had hoped to renew those to secure their statuses as Arsenal players.

There have been no clear indication on why these deals have been delayed, but the lack of silverware for the trophy-laden players could be a factor.

Both Sanchez and Ozil are sought after, and there would no doubt be a queue of possible teams vying for their services.
