As reports continue to circulate linking Mesut Ozil with a free transfer to Manchester United, Arsenal may bring a player to the Emirates stadium in the opposite direction.

The Gunners are seemingly resigned to losing both Ozil and Alexis Sanchez at the end of the season, with both players' contracts expiring in June.

Sanchez has long been linked with Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, while Ozil is rumoured to be on the radar of Jose Mourinho, who the German playmaker played under at Real Madrid between 2010 and 2013.

But the North London club may be close to completing a deal that would see a United player arrive at the Emirates stadium for absolutely nothing.

United's 20-year-old goalkeeper Dean Henderson is, according to Metro, on Arsene Wenger's shopping list, with the young stopper out of contract in nine months time and looking unlikely to ever get a run of games in United's first team, with David De Gea and Sergio Romero currently occupying the top two goalkeeper slots in Mourinho's squad.

Henderson is currently on loan at Shrewsbury Town and could become David Ospina's replacement, with the Colombian expected to leave Arsenal at the end of the current campaign.

Despite Henderson never being likely to feature for United, the club are apparently keen to keep him on their books and are expected to offer him a new deal. Should Henderson reject United's offer, though, he would be free to move to the Gunners, who would have to part with a compensation fee due to Henderson's age.

The 20-year-old 'keeper has never made a competitive appearance for United but has turned out 10 times for Shrewsbury, this season. He has also lad loan spells at Grimsby Town and Stockport County.
