Monaco Line Up Move For Potential Kylian Mbappe Replacement

The French champions could still lose their main man to either PSG or Real Madrid but have already identified a possible replacement.

The last thing in the world that Monaco want is to lose Kylian Mbappe this summer. However that is still very much a possibility so the French champions needs a backup plan, fortunately they are working on one.

Last season Monaco were definitely the surprise package throughout Europe, beating PSG to the Ligue 1 title and getting to the Champions League semi-final, but that has attracted all sorts of attention to their players.

This summer they've lost Bernardo Silva, Tiemoué Bakayoko and Benjamin Mendy whilst Fabinho and Thomas Lemar have been constantly linked with moves away from the principality in the south of France.

The one player they'd want to keep above all other is teenager Kylian Mbappe who burst onto the world scene last season, scoring 15 goals in the league and six in Europe.

Mbappe could yet go to PSG or Real Madrid for a huge fee and according to reports in Colombia, via Goal, Leonardo Jardim has lined up AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca as a potential replacement should the 18 year old move on.

Bacca's agent Sergio Barila confirmed the news when speaking to a radio station in the striker's home country saying, "Monaco called me to ask for information about the player's situation.

"He has already been at Sevilla and knows LaLiga well so there is a chance. If he does leave Milan and if Sevilla offers an important possibility, I think it will be evaluated in a calm manner."

The 30 year old won two Europa League titles with Sevilla before his move to Italy in 2015, where he has scored 34 goals in 76 appearances, and his time at the San Siro seems to be over.

The player's agent did suggest he could stay with the Rossoneri adding, "He has three years left on his contract with Milan and there is a possibility for the player to continue to play for Milan, but only if the sporting conditions are right: it is a World Cup year and the player wants to be in full form to have a good season and to arrive in Russia in the best possible condition.£

First team football is likely to become difficult to come by with the new signings in Vicenzo Montella's side. Monaco must hope the chance to play in the Champions League alongside national captain Radamel Falcao is enough to persuade Bacca to chose them ahead of Sevilla.-
