Michy Batshuayi Rejects Loan Move To Spurs

The Chelsea striker had chance to move but he's holding out for something else.

The end of this transfer window is all getting a bit weird when it comes to the axis of strikers moving around. Now Michy Batshuayi has rejected the chance to move from Chelsea to Spurs even though his club were okay with it.

Arsenal are on the verge of signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but that leaves Dortmund really wanting a striker to replace the Gabonese forward, meanwhile Chelsea are also desperate for cover for Alvaro Morata.

At one point it looked like a simple switcharoo with Olivier Giroud making the move to Stamford Bridge and Michy Batshuayi packing his bags for a trip to the Bundesliga till the end of the season.

Things have been rather complicated with none of the moves actually happening. Chelsea have also been linked with a move for Fernando Llorente but that would also leave Spurs needing a back up to Harry Kane.

According to French newspaper RMC, via Get French Football News, Mauricio Pochettino's side made a loan offer for Batshuayi which Chelsea were happy to discuss as long as they got a replacement in but the player rejected the move.

It's likely that the Belgian doesn't want to move across London because he would encounter similar issues at Wembley. His problem at Stamford Bridge is a lack of game time whilst it would be even harder to get in Spurs starting line up ahead of Harry Kane.

Batshuayi wants more game time ahead of the summer so he can make sure he's part of Belgium's plans at the World Cup. Whilst he might not get much football right now Alvaro Morata's form does give him some chance of getting game time.

Conte has never seemed to be a fan of the Belgian and tried to sign Fernando Llorente in the summer but the former Swansea City striker decided to move to Spurs instead.

With around 29 hours left of the transfer window there could be a lot of movement with strikers and like some well stacked dominoes we're just waiting for the first piece to fall.

Where will everyone end up?
