Manchester United To Sell Player After Extending His Contract

I think Jose Mourinho can pretty much concede the Premier League title at this point, in fact the Manchester United manager is probably just hoping he doesn't see his side lose the title at Old Trafford. Now he's planning for next season by deciding to sell one of his players.

There was a time in August when Manchester United were matching Manchester City point for point and we hoped that the Premier League battle was going to be the one we were hoping for.

Check out our video of Manchester United's greatest flops:

What we didn't realise was City were just teasing us and were actually one of the best sides in Europe whilst United were nothing but a decent side on very good form.

For the second season in a row the Red Devils have shown improvements but still been far too short of the title race and it's obvious that there's still parts of the squad that need mass improvement.

As well as adding to the squad Jose Mourinho must clear out the players that aren't of the right standard. According to the the Mirror he's set to start the clear out by selling Daley Blind after extending the Dutchman's contract by a year.

Blind signed for United under Louis van Gaal in the summer of 2014 when his former boss at international level arrived at Old Trafford but his versatility was as much a hindrance to him as a help.

The 27 year-old has never really held down one position in the Premier League with his contract running down this summer, and having played just five league games this season, was expected to leave at the end of the season.

But United then decided to take up an option to give him another year on top of his deal. However it seems that it was just in order to make sure they made money from the former Ajax player.

Roma tried to sign the player on loan in January but United were only interested in a permanent deal, the Red Devils are hoping to recoup the £14 million they spent for him.
