Manchester United's renaissance is unlikely to be enough to paper over the cracks and keep Louis van Gaal in a job next season. And it certainly won't mean the club don't make big transfers for next season as they step up their bid for a talented youngster.

Talented youngsters have been all the range at Old Trafford this season with Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson amongst the club's best players, even if one has only played a handful of times.

Tonight United scouts will head to Portugal as the club attempt to step up their bid to sign Benfica winger Renato Sanches. There is an agreement between the two clubs in place but nothing more than the fact the Portuguese side are willing to come to the table to negotiate.
