Manchester United Set To Rival Manchester City In Another Transfer

Manchester United Set To Rival Manchester City In Another Transfer

Pep Guardiola is going to be sick of the sight of Jose Mourinho soon enough.

Pep Guardiola won't exactly be happy when Manchester United eventually reveal the signing of Alexis Sanchez and he'll be even more annoyed when he finds out his next transfer target is also being coveted by his local rivals.

There would have been very little doubt in Pep Guardiola's mind that at some point, be it this month or in the summer, that he would have been reunited with Alexis Sanchez, this time at the Etihad Stadium.

That was until Jose Mourinho came along and decided to pay the money that both Arsenal and the player wanted to get him this month, rather than wait for him to be on a free, and ruined Guardiola's peace.

Check out these classic Mourinho quotes:

Seeing as his club are 12 points clear of United in the Premier League and only lost once the Spaniard will remain pretty calm about the whole thing, it doesn't really affect their title chances.

However what could make his blood boil is having to go up against the Red Devils for another target but that's what could happen in the summer. According to reports United have joined City in the race for Nice midfielder Jean Seri:

The Ivorian has been linked with a move away from Nice for months now. In the summer he looked destined for Barcelona but the Camp Nou side wouldn't pay the fee and instead signed Paulinho.

Since then he has often been linked with a potential move to PSG, now though two Premier League giants are also interested in him and it could come down to where he'll get most game time, and of course money.

Could Seri join our list of flops?

Of course the two Manchester clubs being after the same players is a more likely occurrence with them both trying to win honours both at home and in Europe but Guardiola will just be more irritated by the fact it's Mourinho he's going up against.

Where will Seri end up?
