On Sunday afternoon Jose Mourinho might fight against all expectations to play one of the youngest teams the Premier League has ever seen. And he could be about to add to the ranks of youngsters at Old Trafford with his first summer signing.

Manchester United play Crystal Palace on Sunday at Old Trafford in their last league game of what has been a dreadful campaign. Fortunately for the Red Devils they have a Europa League final to still look forward to.

For several weeks Jose Mourinho's side have shown little to no interest in the league table, mostly shown by the fact that a clearly out of form Wayne Rooney has been starting games.

This week Mourinho has made it clear that he's a bit annoyed his team's match comes so close to their big final in Stockholm against Ajax on Wednesday and their only chance of making the Champions League next season.

Jose is looking to break the general perception that he never plays youth players by putting them all in his squad against Palace on Sunday but according to Spanish paper SPORT it is youngster Arnau Puigmal who is most interesting Mourinho.

The newspaper says that United have already agreed terms with the Espanyol wonderkid and it is only a matter of time before they confirm signing the 16-year-old.

The Spanish press say that United have offered the Cadete A player 'a lot of money' and that the central midfielder has been happy to accept the offer, he will likely join United when the transfer window opens.

It is believed that Mourinho was eager to move quickly for the teenager as Manchester City had been eyeing a move for the player and United are wary about catching their rivals in the academy stakes.

City recently picked up a ban stopping them from signing academy players from England but they can still sign players from abroad.

United's academy could be on show at Old Trafford at the weekend with Joel Pereira, Axel Tuanzebe, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Demetri Mitchell, Scott McTominay, Matthew Willock, Josh Harrop, Zach Dearnley and Angel Gomes all expected to be in the squad.

The man who normally plays no youngsters might be about to unleash the youngest team in Premier League history!
