Earlier this summer Manchester United sold Wesley Sneijder to Nice. Previously the player who obviously signed for United around 2010 had been on loan in Turkey. Now the Red Devils are being linked with a different former player back.
You'll have to excuse the huge amount of sarcasm attached to the opening sentence but Wesley Sneijder was 'moving to United' so many times during a certain period that it's hard to believe that he never actually ended up in England.
Of course the former Inter midfielder isn't the only player that's happened to in the past and that kind of thing happens all the time to clubs, as I recently wrote about when Jose Mourinho bought Victor Lindelof this summer.
Sorry Wes, you aren't moving to Old Trafford. Image: PA

Speaking of Lindelof, the centre back is yet to make his league debut for the Red Devils having been sat on the bench against Swansea City at the weekend and there are rumours that Mourinho is still after another centre back.
And according to Super Deporte in Spain they could move for another Benfica centre back in the form of Ezequiel Garay, who has been linked with the same move many times in the past.
Surely it won't happen. Image: PA

The 30 year old has reportedly been watched by scouts from United, Juventus, Benfica and Spurs with the Old Trafford club and the Old Lady apparently the most likely to sign the player.
Apparently the former Chelsea manager isn't happy with all his centre-back options and Phil Jones could be the man sold should they manage to sign the man they've wanted for a while.
Could this one finally happen?!
