Manchester United Fans Don't Think Target Will Move To Them

You know it's pretty bad when a player describes wanting to play for a team who play good football and you automatically assume that means he won't be signing for you, but that's how Manchester United fans are feeling right now.

Sir Alex Ferguson built his and Manchester United's reputation on playing attractive, attacking football, in fact it's a legacy at the club that stretches back to the days of Matt Busby and his 'babes.'

Over the last few years that has been eroded away by David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and now Jose Mourinho with the football being a lot duller for the most part and the ultimate insult being Liverpool and Manchester City playing more attractive football.

When United transfer target Jorginho told press he'd be interested in a move to England it should have been cause for excitement at Old Trafford with the Napoli midfielder saying, "I think the Premier League suits my game, but it also depends on who I have next to me because I need to be surrounded by players with certain characteristics.

"There are teams in England who play the football I like, keeping the ball on the ground, playing a quick game with one-twos, pressing their opponents high up the pitch. If one of these clubs were interested in me, I'd adapt to them well and they could adapt to my way of playing, which isn't so common.

"If you have more than one option then you can choose the one that's right for you, your style of play and characteristics."

But because the 26 year old Brazilian born midfielder has specifically said he wants to play with a team who play a 'quick game,' 'pressing their opponents' it has led some United fans to think he's more likely to be off to the Etihad Stadium or Anfield:

United fans acting like their club aren't still second in the league and didn't recently sign Alexis Sanchez, even if he hasn't had the impact they were hoping for so far.

Mourinho may well be interested in Jorginho as he needs two new central midfielders this summer with Marouane Fellaini likely to leave and Michael Carrick retiring.

Where will Jorginho end up?
