The Premier League side will be rebuilding in the summer and it'll likely be under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after his impressive start.

Manchester United are considering a huge £250 million triple assault on the transfer market by making bids for three players in Portugal this summer.

Transfer rumours about Portugal and Manchester United, name a more iconic duo- I'll wait.

Throughout the years the only transfer rumours that have persisted more about the Red Devils than players coming from Portugal have been those about Wesley Sneijder.

Sneijder was linked to United pretty much every summer, and most Januarys, for about five years, even when he'd stopped being anywhere near as good as his treble season with Inter.

And yet even now the Premier League side are linked with at least one player from Portugal every transfer window. Ezequiel Garay and Nicolas Gaitan spent most of their time at Benfica being linked with the Old Trafford club, William Carvalho was another and even Victor Lindelof spent two transfer windows moving to United before he actually did.

Right now Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team are being constantly linked with yet another Benfica player in Joao Felix. The 19 year old midfielder is one of the hottest properties on the market and clubs could have to pay near to £100 million for him.

However that's not where the club's interest in the Iberian peninsular finishes with the Mirror saying they're willing to spend £250 million on Felix, club teammate Ruben Dias and Sporting's Bruno Fernandes.

Felix's release clause is £105 million, Dias can be signed for £95 million and Fernandes for £50 million, meaning the trio would be very costly.

United aren't the only club interested with Real Madrid, Manchester City, Juventus and Barcelona all being linked with the three players.

Dias plays in defence where both Solskjaer and his predecessor Jose Mourinho have wanted to strengthen their options, whilst Felix and Fernandes both play in midfield.

It's still not known if it'll be Solskjaer or someone else will be in charge of the team next season whilst the club are also known to want a director of football too.

No matter what happens it seems that United will always be linked with players from Portugal's Primeira Liga, how many of them actually sign is another matter.
