Manchester City Target Admits That Premier League Move Interests Him

Pep Guardiola's team wouldn't be the only ones interested in him.

Right now it doesn't look like Manchester City's attack could be improved upon but if Pep Guardiola does want another striking option then he may have received a very good boost to the chances.

In one week and just three matches Manchester City have totted up 15 goals. First they smashed five past Liverpool, then four against Feyenoord in the Champions League and back in domestic action on Saturday they notched up six against Watford.

Really it's not that much of a surprise when you consider they've got Bernardo Silva, David Silva, Kevin de Bruyne, Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus in the same team, never mind Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling on the bench.

As attacks go that's pretty good but there's arguably one blind spot in the fact that after Aguero and Jesus there's no real other option as an out and out striker so maybe Pep will try and sign one in the future.

One player City have had an interest in is RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner who, speaking to Bild, admitted he would be interested in a move to a 'big' club and quoted England as somewhere he'd like to play saying:

"But of course I want to play at a big club. But we have not yet come to terms with the development at Leipzig. Perhaps RB will become a big club too - I'm quite sure.

"In Spain there are a maximum of three clubs with Barça, Real and Atlético Madrid. In England there is a bit more: Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City."

Werner has previously attracted attention from the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea as well as the City link and if he did become available there would no doubt be a lot of interest.

The 21 year-old has already scored six goals in eight appearances for Germany and was one of the breakout stars of the Confederations Cup competition that Germany won in the summer.

He's already scored five goals this season and he has a chance to really impress further this season with Leipzig making their first appearance in the Champions League, a real test of his credentials for one of the 'big' clubs.

Would a move to City really benefit him with so much competition?
