Ligue 1 wages for this season have been revealed and Neymar is by far and away the best paid player in France's top tier.

It won't come as a huge surprise to most to learn the PSG forward is the league's top paid player but his wages are massive compared to everyone else's.

L'Equipe report that the former Barcelona players earns a whopping €3 million-a-month, Kylian Mbappe is second with €1.91 million and Thiago Silva is third with €1.5 million. In fact PSG's top 10 are the top 10 in the league too.

Neymar broke the transfer record when he moved from Barcelona to PSG in 2017 for £198 million so it'll come as no shock to see him earning the big money.

He was heavily linked with a return to the Camp Nou last summer and it was reported that the 28-year-old would have to take a pay cut to move back to Spain.

It's likely that few clubs could pay the wages the Brazilian is on, coming in at €750k-a-week.

PSG's dominance in the wages they spend has been shown on the football pitch in the last few years in France too. The Qatari owned club have won the title six of the past seven seasons.

As well as winning Ligue 1 they've also won 16 domestic cup competitions in that time and look set to add more silverware this season.

They lead the French top tier by 12 points from second place Marseille and are through to the quarter final of the Coup de France and last ever final of the Coup de la Ligue.

Lille's Boubakary Soumare rejected a move to Newcastle United in January, after the club accepted a bid for him, isn't even on the team's top 10 earners list, and nor is highly rated forward Victor Osimhen.

Both men will be expected to follow Nicolas Pepe's footsteps and leave the club after a season impressing in France, and go on to earn far more money
