Manchester City are trying to conclude deals for Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte and Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred, but out of nowhere, they appear to have done a bit of unexpected business.
On their official Instagram page, Umbro have announced that their client Mix Diskerud has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Premier League's runaway leaders.
There's even a picture of him with a Manchester City scarf around his neck to go alongside the lengthy message.
The United States international was signed by City's sister club, NYCFC, in January 2015, and scored their first ever MLS goal against Orlando City in the opening game of the season.

He was sent on loan to Swedish outfit IFK Göteborg in March 2017, returning to Scandinavia after spells with Stabæk and Rosenborg in Norway, where he was born.

He made 22 appearances for the club but now, has bizarrely got a move to the best team in England at present. It's a bit of a step up, isn't it?
City are yet to comment on the news but the consensus is that he will probably never play a single game for City and instead will join another team in the City Football Group, which has been a recurring theme in recent years.
