Jurgen Klopp wants a further three elite-level players to take his Liverpool side to the next level.

Yesterday, the Reds confirmed the capture of top target Virgil van Dijk for a world-record fee totalling £75 million, while they also have Naby Keita joining from RB Leipzig in time next season in another big deal.

But Klopp also feels further reinforcements are needed, and as per Goal, there's word on the trio he believes can transform his team.

For starters, it seems a given that Emre Can is on his way out, most likely joining Juventus on a free. His international colleague Leon Goretzka, the Schalke midfielder whose contract is also up in the summer, is who Liverpool want to replace him.

He'd be a fantastic addition to Liverpool's midfielder, as would Lazio's Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, easily the most in-demand player in Serie A at the moment and also linked with the Anfield club.

The attacking midfielder has attracted interest from PSG and Manchester United, but his club won't budge and are reportedly demanding at least £90 million for his services as they rate him incredibly highly.

The third and final man Klopp wants is Monaco's Thomas Lemar. Liverpool, along with Arsenal, made late attempts to sign him in the summer transfer window but nothing materialised and unlike the rest of Monaco's big guns from last season, he stayed put.

One wouldn't expect him to stick around at the Principality club for much longer and Liverpool are waiting in the wings for the versatile France international.

A lot has been made about the huge fee Liverpool have forked out to add Van Dijk to their ranks but Klopp has brushed that aside and says it's simply down to the market today.

"He is quality, that is why we got him and that is why we were interested in him," Klopp said, as quoted by The Telegraph.

"It is difficult at the moment because technically he is still a player of Southampton. I can imagine people will think 'wow, what a number it is' but for me it is not really interesting.

"We do not make the price, the market makes the price and the first thing all Liverpool supporters should forget quite soon is the price. We only talk about the player and what he can bring in - his qualities, mentality and character. That is why we are really happy about it."

Will Van Dijk prove his worth?
