Liverpool Want Barcelona Star In Philippe Coutinho Deal

Not only has Neymar been dominating the transfer window, but also Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho who remains heavily linked with a move to Barcelona.

And it appears Jurgen Klopp is resigned to losing the Brazilian ahead of the upcoming campaign. The player has reportedly expressed his desire to leave Anfield for the Camp Nou.

Coutinho will command a hefty transfer fee but Klopp is hoping to also to receive a Barcelona player as part of the deal.

According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo via Metro, the German boss wants Rafinha. The defender is attracting plenty of interest with Arsenal and Spurs also keeping tabs on the Brazilian.


Though Klopp has told the board he wants the player at Anfield. The report claims Liverpool where plotting a bid for the 24-year-old with the club prepared to table an offer in the region of £20-30 million.

While he wants both deals separate, Barcelona are keen to offer the player along with money for Coutinho.

Meanwhile, Barcelona president Josep Bartomeu provided an update on their pursuit of Coutinho.

"He's a Liverpool player and I have a lot of respect for Liverpool, which we do in the summer is to be very discreet about everything, so we can not confirm or deny anything," he said via The Mirror.

"There will be more players (coming in), one in the middle, sure," Bartomeu added.

Barcelona were hoping to bolster their attack with the addition of Coutinho, though it is seems likely that he'll be a replacement for Neymar who's transfer to Paris Saint-Germain looks likely. Crazy.
