Liverpool To Make Final Huge Off For Naby Keita

Jurgen Klopp is desperate to get his hands on the midfielder. Could his last attempt be to replace Philippe Coutinho?

We've all got that one who got away. The one person we doted after, really wanted, thought we could have but in the end it was fruitless, which transfer did you really want your team to do? For Jurgen Klopp it's Naby Keita.

Of course some of us have more than just one who got away with Arsene Wenger's little black book essentially full more of numbers of players he could have signed but didn't than the likes of Thierry Henry.

Every summer there's transfers that managers are just desperate to do. Some of those seem so likely that it's a genuine surprise when it all goes pear shaped.

Before David Moyes disastrous run as Manchester United, Real Sociedad and Sunderland his pursuit of midfielder Thiago from Barcelona should have foretold what was going to happen.

The Scot seemed destined to sign the Spaniard until he eventually moved to Bayern Munich.

One player that looks likely to move to Anfield at some point, and Jurgen Klopp is yearning to sign is Red Bull Leipzig's Naby Keita.

According to the Mirror, the Reds will make one final push to try and sign the midfielder from the German side with a bid believed to be in excess of £70 million.

The Premier League side have twice had bids rejected for the 22 year old Guinean midfielder but the club aren't willing to approach other targets until they're sure they can't sign him.

Leipzig have said they have no interest in selling the player but Liverpool's attempts to bring him in seem to have turned his head.

A move for Keita could be as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho but it seems more likely that Klopp wants him as an addition to the squad but not as a replacement.

£70 million might seem a lot but it's standard these days.
