Liverpool Eye Up Possible January Philippe Coutinho Replacement

The Reds could still lose Coutinho in January as Barcelona are determined to get their hands on the Brazilian.

Liverpool are likely to try as hard as they did in the summer not to lose Philippe Coutinho in the January transfer window. However if they are unsuccessful they have their eye on a possible replacement.

If you were living under a rock in the summer, or somehow successfully avoiding all news on the transfer window, then you luckily avoided all the will he/won't he news about Philippe Coutinho and Barcelona.

So much did it look like it would happen at times that it was announced, likely on more than one occasion, as a done deal. With Barcelona offering around 150 million euros it's a surprise Liverpool didn't take the money and run.

The La Liga side have even admitted that they are likely to go back with a bid for the player in January and Jurgen Klopp's side are likely to try and hold firm once again.

However if they eventually decide to give in then Klopp has one target in mind. According to Telefoot in France the German wants to sign PSG winger Julian Draxler.

It looked as if Draxler would be heading for the exit doors when Neymar and Mbappe joined in the summer but according to the reports that link Liverpool with a move for him the French side now want to keep the German winger.

It's not the first time he's been linked with a move to the Premier League as Arsenal have twice tried to sign him and would no doubt be interested for a third time if he became available.

Julian Draxler's Latest Social Media Post Excites Arsenal Fans

Arsenal fans don't know whether or not their team will manage to keep hold of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez for the whole season but they are getting very excited about a possible replacement.

At the end of the season both Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez will be out of contract at the Emirates and whilst Arsene Wenger didn't want to sell either in the summer he came close to letting the Chilean go to Manchester City.

In a recent press conference Wenger admitted that both players could be sold in January with City very much still interested in a move for the former Barcelona winger. If the Gunners do choose to sell either player then they'd certainly have to replace them.

One man who has long been linked with a move to north London is PSG's Julian Draxler with the German reportedly available for transfer. And a post on social media to his former teammate Sead Kolasinac got Arsenal fans excited:

Kolasinac and Draxler played together at Schalke before the German moved to Wolfsburg and then PSG, Wenger reportedly tried to sign him before he made both those moves.

The Confederations Cup player of the tournament has started four games in Ligue 1 so far this season but the signings of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar have cast doubts about his future.

Could he and Kolasinac be colleagues again?
