Latest Club Added To The James Rodriguez Transfer Saga

The Real Madrid forward clearly wants out at the Bernabeu and now there's a new name reportedly in the hunt.

James Rodriguez leaving the Bernabeu is the transfer story that seemingly refuses to go away but the player is yet to go away himself. Now another of Europe's biggest clubs is being added into the mix.

Real Madrid have a rather stacked midfield and forward line and if anything they are trying to add to that with Dani Ceballos and Kylian Mbappe very big transfer targets for Los Blancos.

For most of last season the man to miss out on playing, and often in the squad completely, was James Rodriguez with the Colombian failing to impress Zinedine Zidane enough to force his way in, unlike Isco.

That has left the 2014 World Cup Golden Boot winner scratching around for a new club this summer with Manchester United and Chelsea supposedly the front runners, without ever looking like they would make a move.

Now they have 'competition' with Colombian tv journalist Javier Hernandez Bonnet reporting on Caracol reporting that Bayern Munich will make a move for the former Monaco number 10:

Speaking to the South American tv channel the journalist said, "James Rodriguez will not stay at Real Madrid. He is closer to Bayern Munich than Paris Saint Germain."

Bonnet then added that Rodriguez trip to Madrid to report back for pre-season training, before the club's tour to America as part of the International Champions Cup, was merely a "stopover because an offer from Bayern Munich could materialise in the next few hours."

It has felt very much all summer that someone either inside Real or inside Rodriguez' camp is at 'fault' for all the links with different teams and there's every chance that it is Jorge Mendes doing.

Real are reportedly after around £62 million for the 25 year-old as they try to recoup as much money as possible from the player they signed three years ago on the back of his performances in Brazil.

A move to Bayern could make sense after playing under Carlo Ancelotti in the Spanish capital.

Where will Rodriguez be on September 1st?
