Keylor Navas looks set to leave Real Madrid in the January transfer window after the Costa Rican goalkeeper posted what seemed to be a farewell message on his Instagram story.

For most people the delight of counting down from 10 and screaming 'Happy New Year' will be a very passing one that inevitably leads, no matter their claims on social media, to a new year but not a new them.

Life for some footballers can change a hell of a lot just by the passing from 2018 to 2019 and that's because they really do have a chance for some change in their lives with the opening of the winter transfer window.

Whether a player is sat moping on the bench or he's in the form of his life so a bigger club is going to come calling there's likely to be players all over the place angling for a move.

Some players will be happy to leave and others will do so with a heavy heart and Keylor Navas is definitely going to be the latter, should he move.

The Real Madrid goalkeeper seemed to confirm that he'd be leaving the Bernabeu with a post on his Instagram story which read 'Thanks for everything.'

As well as his Insta post there are transfer rumours to back up the idea it was confirmation that he'll be leaving the Spanish capital sooner rather than later.

According to SPORT, Arsenal have offered £14 million to sign the 32 year old. Roma have also been rumoured to be interested in the former Levante man.

Navas has been with Los Blancos since 2014, after impressing at the World Cup in Brazil, and was the club's first choice goalkeeper from 2015-2018.

In that time he was very good and helped the club win three Champions League titles but his place at the club was never guaranteed.

Florentino Perez was determined to sign a Galactico for between the sticks and tried to sign David de Gea on numerous occasions, with the Costa Rican set to swap places with the Manchester United man in August 2015.

Navas kept hold of the number one spot at the club until Thibaut Courtois was signed in the summer and despite eight appearances in all competitions this season he has mainly been left out of the starting XI since Santiago Solari became manager.

New year, new club.
