Kevin De Bruyne Set To Get Big Pay Rise

The in form central midfielder was a target for PSG but is set to sign a new deal for Manchester City instead.

There's some good news for Kevin de Bruyne but some very bad news for the rest of the Premier League as the Belgian is not going anywhere and will sign a new deal at Manchester City according to reports.

When Kevin de Bruyne re-joined the Premier League from Germany, this time moving to Manchester City and not Chelsea, it was dubbed as a £50 million move for a player that flopped by some.

How foolish that assessment has been made to look by the central midfielder. This season the 26 year-old has eight assists in 12 games for his club side and two goals and is looking like a front runner for the player of the year awards at the end of the season, even if Harry Kane will have something to say.

If anyone from opposing teams was hoping that this run of form might spark some interest from one of Europe's mega clubs then they'd be correct but ultimately sad.

According to Goal PSG had been hoping to make a move for the former Chelsea player but instead he is due to sign a deal for more than £250,000-a-week, a huge increase on his current £115k-a-week.

Patrick De Koster, the player's agent, had previously said that he was hoping to hold talks with the hierarchy at the Etihad club to get his player parity with the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe at PSG.

The reported £250k-a-week is still someway short of those two superstars but it is still more than double than the former Wolfsburg player is currently on and will still set De Bruyne up for more wage rises going forward.

Lord knows where De Bruyne would fit in at PSG but the club were apparently willing to offer big money next summer if the player or his representatives gave any hint of a move being possible.

Now it looks like he's set to stay in England and terrorise Premier League defences!
