Jose Mourinho might have had a pretty miserable end to his 2018 but he could soon be back in charge of one of the biggest clubs in the world if rumours are to be believed. Now he's had his say on a potential return to Real Madrid.

They say you can't keep a good man down, so many will be wondering what the hell Jose Mourinho does to be able to bounce back every time.

When things went wrong for the former 'Special One' at Chelsea the first time it didn't take long till he was in charge at Inter, when it went pear shaped at Real Madrid he was soon back at Chelsea and when the Blues sacked him for a second time it was only six months till he was in charge at Manchester United.

Based on that trajectory it won't be too long till he's back at Chelsea or become Prime Minister, whichever of those jobs is available first, so probably PM then.

Almost as soon as Jose took his marching orders from Old Trafford last month the former Manchester United boss has been linked with a return to Real.

Speaking to Portuguese newspaper Record, the 55 year old has responded to the speculation, saying:

"When a coach or a player he comes back, it means something positive we did.I felt it when I returned to Chelsea.

"When a professional returns or is invited to return to a club it is a tremendous honor. It's not a gamble in the dark, the clubs are trying to hire a player or a coach they know, they've already been there, and if they invite you it's because they know the value of the person."

Mourinho could be 'invited' back to the Bernabeu because of his good relationship with president Florentino Perez but also because things haven't gone according to plan for Los Blancos this season.

It was never going to be an easy season after both Zinedine Zidane and Cristiano Ronaldo left but Julen Lopetegui had a nightmare time before being replaced by Santiago Solari.

The former Real midfielder has fared better but has still lost three times to leave the Champions League holders in fifth, 10 points behind fierce rivals Barcelona who are top.

After his last job it seems unlikely that Mourinho would be handed the keys to the Bernabeu straight away but you can never rule anything out when it comes to Jose or Real.
